Etienne Anheim, member of ESR Research Centre (EA 2449), is the Scientific Coordinator of PATRIMA and PATRIMEX. Since 2006, he is associate Professor of Mediaeval History at UVSQ, Deputy Head of the History Department since 2009, Deputy Director of the Institute of Cultural Studies (2010). He was in charge of a Research project entitled “Administering by Writing” for the past two years, and he is now in charge of a Research project supported by the ANR, Music and Musicians of the Saintes-Chapelles (XIIIth-XVIIIth cent.), in collaboration with the universities of Tours and Dijon.

Much of this research has been carried out within a number of research projects, both French (ANR programs with Paris-I, Aix-en-Provence and Tours), and International (Rome, Berlin, Munich), and has included the publication of archive sources. He is now working on Cultural Heritage studies (paintings, archives, manuscripts). This research has been undertaken together with a wider reflection on the historiographical and epistemological dimension, and on the interdisciplinary potentiality of the historian’s work. Since 2006, he has published more than 30 works, 16 of these in periodicals classified by the European Science Foundation, of which 8 in “A-class” periodicals. This scientific production has also been accompanied by work as a member of the editorial board of the Revue de Synthèse (since 2000) and for the Annales (since 2007), as well as by teaching responsibilities abroad: since 2008, at the Università Cattolica di Milano (Italy), the University of Fribourg (Switzerland), Cornell University and Rutgers University (USA).

Etienne Anheim is LabEx PATRIMA's Scientific Coordinator, and as such he supervises all its scientific activities. He is responsible for the intellectual positioning of PATRIMA and PATRIMEW, which highlights material heritage as a border object of study and knowledge. He notably sets up internal calls for tender, taking care to link academic laboratories' and cultural institutions' expertise on the one hand with that of natural sciences on the other hand.
